Respecting and maintaining the 65-year old building - with its exposed brick walls and large windows - was a primary design driver. When building out the three-story office space, subtle pops of branding - such as the signature Lyft pink - enliven an otherwise historic, clam and neutral space.
When Lyft was initially mulling the concept of the Nashville office, it internally dubbed it "Project Dolly." The name didn't stick - but an homage to Dolly Parton did. The "Sometimes Great Hair is the Best Revenge" wall continues unpredictable design touches and underscores the office location.
Many of Lyft's drivers and customer service specialists also are in the music industry. It's not just the wall of wigs that gives Lyft employees a chance to connect to their musical passions while in the office. Site-specific art installations - such the café's wall of music posters - decorate the three-story office. Guitars abound and full recording studio is available for employees to book for practice, fun or recording any time they like.
