This adaptive reuse of an existing bath and tile showroom renovates and rejuvenates the assemblage of four existing, mid-century warehouse buildings and the modern and neutral aesthetic achieved is the perfect backdrop for the refined products Alfred Williams showcases. The design concept is reflective of an art gallery - open, bright, and clean - allowing the space to act as the canvas for the furniture.
Circulation routes throughout the space facilitate a unique and unexpected procession. The once disjointed, circuitous pathways through the assemblage of buildings give way to corridors and ramps, which create opportunities to reveal the space from several vantage points. Curating the connectivity within the space enables a highly customizable experience, and ultimately reflects the energetic and lively culture of Alfred Williams & Company.
The employees sit at open work stations directly in the center of the showroom floor. Their day-to-day activity is put on display as much as the furniture. This free-form plan provides abundant flexibility, accommodates special events, and above-all demonstrates Alfred Williams' commitment to creating vibrant office spaces that work.
