However, the school's growing enrollment necessitated expansions in parking, programmatic offerings and, by extension, the facilities to support those offerings. In 2008, MBA initiated its partnership with Hastings Architecture Associates to envision a new master plan for the school.
Through an extensive visioning process with MBA leadership, it was determined the master plan needed should include a new entry drive and parking on the west side of campus, an additional parking garage, tennis center, soccer field, a classroom building, and dining hall. Hastings Architecture's greenSTUDIO division participated in the plan's development to deliver on MBA's sustainability goals.
The design of the Master Plan was a collaborative effort between the school and the surrounding neighborhood to assure that all would benefit from the future growth of the school. The realization of the projects identified in the Master Plan further establishes Montgomery Bell Academy as one of the premier private schools in the state as it continues to attract high quality students and staff.
